Im having trouble connecting my wifes laptop to my router, using wpa-psk. If i get this to work, she told me, i can format the windows drive on her computer and make her another happy kanotix-user! So i really want to get this to function.
But i dont know anything, tried reading the forum post's, i dont even know if i have to use wpa_supplicant (i have no idea what it is anyway), i just know that using the inbuild "network card configuration" script doesn't get me anywhere, -it wont connect to my router using that. Can anyone give me a link or a starting point?

You need to provide more information: what kind of wifi chip does your laptop use, for example. What laptop is it? It's possible you need to install the correct wifi module, but can't say until you give more details. Have you installed kanotix to hard drive, or is this with the livecd.

Im using a zyxel pcmci card its using the prism driver to function, i can easily make it connect to anything when im not using any encryption, but thats not an option. Its a rather unknown danish fabricated brand laptop, VEGA+, im using the live cd.

and yes the card does have wpa, it works and connects to my router with wpa-psk using that windows xp thing
the chipset is intersil
