There is no freenx in Kanotix anymore, but all you need is

update-rc.d -f ssh defaults

spottyrover, you can extract the freenx and NXclient packages from a KANOTIX-2006-01-RC4 LiveCD with dpkg-repack and install them with dpkg -i. freenx runs under Thorhammer without any problems, but you need NXclient versions 1.4 or 1.5 on the client computer. The 2.0 version from Nomachine's website doesn't work.

You can pull the debs from http://www.pinkernell.de/FreeNX.tar.gz

Install them with
Code:
dpkg -i *.deb
Use default settings, i.e. Nomachine keys.
