          | Hi,
I just got a Mp3/Ogg player (Cowon F1-1GB) which works great with GNU/Linux. I would like to use it to listen to podcasts. On a website I found this pointer:

 Zitat:
What do I need to hear podcasts?
.The first thing you need is podcast subscription software. Your options include the latest version of Apple's iTunes (which has the software built in), or other services such as Odeo or iPodder, to manage your podcast subscriptions. At this point, you will already be able to listen to podcast audio from your computer (provided your computer has a sound card and can play MP3 audio files). If you want to also make your podcasts portable, you will need to transfer them from your computer to a portable media device

Is there any podcasting software available for Kanotix?

In particular, I would like to download the podcast of the show "wait wait don't tell me" aired on NPR. On this page http://www.npr.org/rss/podcast/podcast_detail.php?siteId=5183214 some options are offered including subscribing to iTunes or myYahoo. What does this mean? Why can't I simply download an mp3 file (I won't dream about ogg here...)? It also offers the option to paste this URL http://www.npr.org/rss/podcast.php?id=35 into a 'podcasting tool' . Do they mean software or hardware?!

 I am quite confused

 Thanks for any help!

          | Hi devil,
You were both right and wrong. Right about suggesting that I google linux+podcast. Wrong about Kanotix not having preinstalled podcasting software. Turns out - amaroK has podcasting support!

Thanks for the pointer - I should have thought about it myself

 Kind regards,
