| I did a d-u and the new Python2.4 packages wants to remove much of Gnome. Any ideas on this? |

Not a Gnome user myself so I haven't seen this issue and there may be an "official" something or other to do to fix this but usually you just wait.  Do you need latest Python? People get into an upgrading frenzy for no reason sometimes. I will comend you on actually reading what apt tells you it intends to do before doing it and then simply blaming apt. Often times in Debian Sid not all packages are yet at the proper versions. Sometimes all you can do is wait. |

apt-get dist-upgrade
apt-get install fluxbox.
