Post subject: Cannot connect to the internet

I have just installed Kanotix 2005-04 from a live cd but I cannot connect to the internet.
I tried to use apt-get and a message said "invalid operation".
I use broadband to connect to the internet.
When I looked in the Control Center under Network it has 2 ip addresses and neither one is the one that Windows uses to connect to the internet.
Should I delete these two addresses or is there some other way to set up the internet connection? |

The usual way is just to execute
netcardconfig
once and select DHCP. Btw. Easter RC4 is much newer... |
