I was trying out kanotix Easter RC as a live CD boot.

I remembered the syntax for iwconfig'ing the wifi connection.

I wanted to try blender on kanotix as live CD.

Trying to apt-get install blender, or doing it preceded by apt-get update, however, didn't work. Can someone please remind me of how this would be done? TIA.

Is unionfs still being used in kanotix? I am not sure, so please someone verify this. If so, you could use the wiki ( the important part is english Winken )

I haven't tried it with Easter-RC4, but I would assume it still works.

No it isn't but if you forget to pass the cheat on boot fix-unionfs is the way to enable unionfs.

you could also use blender from klik:
http://blender.klik.atekon.de/

this way it should also be possible to save the app on e.g. an usb-drive, so you only need to dl it once.

One side note:

Blender requires Python 2.4. Don't know if that's included in Easter, but isn't at that version in 2005-04.

Also, Klik offers Blender, which makes it easy to preserve in a LiveCD system, as well as upgrades, but again, be sure to have Python 2.4 or it will fail to run.
