several scattered infos in the forum indicate that Kano is working on a distro based on debian stable. Since the release of the new debian is still pending (it was announced to come in Dezember 2006) I assume that Kano waits for this release - could be a long wait IMHO. |

guess we'll have to stick with the stable version. I tried knoppix 5.1.1 and for me kanotix2005-04 is FAR BETTER inspite of the older kernel. kanotix still is the best when it came to hardware support for my lappie. |

I agree. I can't wait for the new version of kanotix. It's best livecd linux. I've heard that new Debian will be released in near future, so I was wonder.... Maybe it will be new kanotix based on old Debian ETCH and another new Kanotix based on new stable Debian Lenny |

Spitfire is using Debian Stable, but the iso is created every night, so you don't need to update after install. |

Maybe the "Downloads" page should have links to the nightly builds page for Spitfire.
Right now, it still shows Dragonfire as the latest download, so not many people will go explore further to discover Spitfire.
Also, perhaps the Home page/News section should be updated with a simple announcement that Spitfire based on Jessie is available. |

Yes, I did, but I was wondering when the official Spitfire ISO will be released, because for now all we have are the nightly builds.
P.S. Sorry for the persistence. |

Nightly = Official = Supported
Use the ISO from the day you want to install. Not something a few months old. |

As a matter of good housekeeping and maintenance of the official website, the downloads page:
http://www.kanotix.com/Downloads.html
should also have the links to the nightly builds for Spitfire. Right now the latest links shown are for Dragonfire. |
