Has anyone here succesfully got a Brother DCP-115C printer working on Kanotix 2005-04, or similar Linux, eg. Debian etc.:
http://www.t-online-shop.de/preisknalle ... 15503.html
Its a printer and scanner in one and it appears to be a new model so no Linux driver seem to exist online and naturally the installation CD offer only 89/2000/XP/OSX drivers.
The KDE AddPrinter wizard currently presents drivers for DCP-1200/DCP-1200 hl1250 etc. and various other older models, but not one named DCP-115C.
Is the only current available option to try and use NdisWrapper with some evil Windows driver for this particular printer? |

Hallo tuxedo
use the MFC-210C driver from the brother-linux-driver-homepage
http://solutions.brother.com/linux/en_us/index.html
install the LPR-driver first, then the cups-wrapper (debian)
use the brscan2-driver for your scanner
my MFC-440CN works great with KANOTIX

Thanks - I tried that and it seems to work, at least with a pseudo printer. However, on Kanotix 2005-04 and perhaps later, just clicking on the downloaded .deb files and launching them in the kpackage installer does not seem to complete the installation correctly because "csh" is required, but apt-get install csh will fix that.
A Ubunto how-to with instructions which seems to work fine on Kanotix too, can be found here:
